VHS Oldenburg – Anniversary Hybrid Event
“We’re celebrating 100! Everything is different than you think.
In 2020, the VHS Oldenburg celebrated its centenary. Under the motto “100 years of VHS Oldenburg – The future begins today – Thinking ahead. Thinking anew. Rethinking.”, a series of measures and events were to be developed in the anniversary year with which the VHS Oldenburg would present itself as the education provider in Oldenburg and the surrounding area.
As the initial consulting agency, we were commissioned with a sparring workshop in which content and communicative guidelines for various event formats were to be developed. In the course of the cooperation, we also took on the conception, planning and organisation as well as the staging and production of a live event intended for the general public at Oldenburg harbour.
Due to the Corona-related restrictions on events, the original concept could no longer be realised. In this situation, we had a forward-looking and courageous client in the VHS Oldenburg, who was prepared to hold the anniversary event even under greatly changed conditions. So we developed a new concept that translated the public event into the media space as a hybrid event.
In contrast to closed anniversary events for invited guests, we initially focused this concept on generating a great deal of public interest by means of strategic advance communication in the social media. Furthermore, we wanted to stage the VHS Oldenburg with its various programme offers and special rooms in an emotional, content-related and experience-oriented way.
Spectacular stage show despite Corona – Hybrid makes it possible!
For the event itself, we developed an exciting show concept with changing venues and moderations, through which the versatile educational offer of the VHS Oldenburg was presented in an entertaining way. The artist line-up: Annie Heger and Insina Lüschen (Deichgranaten), Björn de Vil, 12 Meter Hase and Konrad Stöckel.
The two-hour live event was broadcast by local broadcaster Oeins with over ten cameras and streamed on the Youtube channels of VHS Oldenburg and Oeins. The digital broadcast enabled not only Oldenburg residents but also interested viewers from the region and all over Germany to celebrate the centenary of the VHS Oldenburg!
