55 years ago, one of the first pedestrian zones in Germany was created in Oldenburg: the Herbartgang. With its mix of architecture, art, gastronomy, hotels and individual shops, the shopping arcade was a popular place to stay in the city centre for decades. Today, however, digital developments and the accompanying change in consumer habits and retail structures present the Herbartgang with new challenges.
Customer journey today and in the future
We therefore took the 55th anniversary as an opportunity to accompany the Herbartgang into the future with a comprehensive communication concept. Regular event measures are aimed at community building. The digital strategy includes a new website that, together with social media and PR, will serve as the hub of the Herbartgang. The goal is clear: shopping should become an experience again.
