Glencore is one of the world’s leading commodities companies. Founded in 1974 as a trading company in the canton of Zug (Switzerland), Glencore is today one of the most important producers and marketers of more than 60 raw materials. Glencore extracts, produces, markets and recycles raw materials for everyday consumer goods, making it a very important player in the energy transition. In total, Glencore employs around 140,000 employees and contractors in over 35 countries.
At the Nordenham site, Nordenham Metall GmbH and Nordenhamer Zinkhütte GmbH are united under the Glencore umbrella. A total of 800 people are employed there. In order to continue to attract enough employees to the traditional company with its attractive jobs in the future, Glencore Nordenham is breaking new ground. A Job2Go centre in the heart of Nordenham’s city centre helps to increase Glencore’s visibility in the region and to counteract the shortage of skilled workers.
The focus is on people: feeling good as if you were with friends
The opening of the recruitment centre primarily serves to recruit staff, but is also an important component of employer branding and a good opportunity to raise awareness of the corporate culture of the long-established industrial company. At GLENCORE, the focus is on people. Familiar, social and safe!
Your future at GLENCORE. Here you feel good! A pop-up store designed in the corporate design, in bright and inviting colours, invites you to get to know us – the mobile and completely recyclable meeting room is also a real eye-catcher. An onboarding service trolley is ready with hot and cold drinks and job information. The corporate values of simplicity, entrepreneurial spirit and openness adorn the wall as tattoos, as do numerous emotional pictures of the employees. A very appealing brand space characterised by a feel-good atmosphere.
Bustle in Nordenham city centre
Visitors to Nordenham’s city centre as well as GLENCORE employees experienced an eventful and entertaining opening day with lots of information and fun, which stimulated communication between the people. The day before, sympathetic promoters distributed numerous advertising materials at the weekly market to draw attention to the opening. A mobile marching band cruised through the city centre on the day of the opening to generate good mood and attention. Inspired by the good mood, numerous interested visitors found their way to the new Recruitment Centre. Here, delicious donuts and drinks were waiting to be consumed. In keeping with the “Job2Go” storyline, coffee was also available “to go” on a coffee bike, because “coffee is the soul of society.” – as Honoré de Balzac once said, and a delicious coffee is all the more enjoyable to drink with nice people and future employees!
“Within just three weeks, POMMEREL managed to develop and produce an innovative, experience-oriented communication concept to raise awareness of the GLENCORE employer brand. In just 4 days, the agency expanded and set up the recruitment centre so that nothing stood in the way of the opening of our “Job2Go” centre. We are thrilled and grateful for this great commitment, flexibility as well as partnership and look forward to the good reception in the city.”
